Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

Due to continued growth, Ingen are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team.

The purpose of the role is to ensure commercial & contractual control and co-ordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of a range of projects to maximise profitability and minimise risk.

Key aspects of the role are:

  • Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with standard company HSE procedures and work instructions
  • In conjunction with the relevant Contract Management team member(s), be accountable for the profitability of the project(s), and develop an appropriate commercial strategy for the project(s) to ensure delivery of required margins
  • Contribute to the management and maintenance of a contract cost reporting system ensuring all financial information is managed and up-to-date and tracked with budget/tender allowances, commitments and deviations highlighted and managed
  • With other members of the team, produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value
  • Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget
  • Ensure that necessary interface information between customers, sub-contractors and other departments is provided in a timely manner
  • Monitor cash flow and valuation plan, ensuring applications are made correctly and in a timely manner

Estimator (Inverness)

Korrie Mechanical & Plumbing are a leading M&E contractor based in Inverness. Due to continued growth, we are strengthening our team in our Inverness office and are seeking a qualified and motivated Estimator to join the business.

Key aspects of the role are:

  •  Participate as a key part of the estimating team to ensure targets and goals are achieved
  • Acknowledge tender enquiries from Clients

  • Participate in Bid / No Bid meetings

  • Generate tender enquiries to relevant sub-contractors and manufacturers

  • Input bills into computerised estimating software (Ensign)

  • Carry out take-offs and input into computerised software (Ensign)

  • Engage with our clients during the tender process

  • Chase up and obtain and verify supplier / sub-contractor quotations and identify the most suitable for inclusion within our tender

  • Identify the most suitable quotations and include within our tender

  • Ensure all estimating procedures are followed

  • Participate in detailed tender review process (including and risk assessment)

  • Ensure all tenders are fully reviewed by the estimating manager

  • Submit tender and completing tender deliverables including the following

    • Tender Letter

    • Priced Bills

    • Tender Quality Documents

  • Develop and maintain a library of outputs and pricing data

  • Assist with chasing up and gathering information on submitted tenders

  • Assist the estimating manager with securing live tenders

  • Compile handover Information on successful tenders

  • Participate in tender handover meetings with our contracts teams

  • Participate in business development

  • Organise close out meetings

How to Apply

The Ingen Apprenticeship is a modern apprenticeship designed to ensure that all apprentices are trained to the standards set by industry in the UK.  It is based on the values of the traditional apprenticeship with all apprentices being employed in either our Mechanical or  Electrical divisions while they learn the skills of their craft.
